I’ve always been drawn to the stories people carry, the quiet histories held in the objects we choose to keep close.

So here’s mine.

My creative path began in fashion. I had completed four years of school, invested deeply in my craft, and applied to large fashion houses, believing I knew where I was headed.Though I had invested deeply in that world, I came to realize that the pace and disposability of fast fashion no longer aligned with how I wanted to create.

Then came what felt like a quiet invitation.

A week after graduation, I found myself thumbing through a jewelry design book, unexpectedly captivated. I couldn’t explain it at the time, but something about metal felt magical. It was grounding, constant, alive with possibility.

Learning the craft of metalsmithing became a natural extension of my creative practice, merging years of design experience with a deep adoration for craftsmanship and process. Jewelry invited me into a more reflective way of creating. It asked for patience, presence, and a reverence for process.

I believe adornment can be deeply personal. Jewelry often marks the thresholds of our lives: love, grief, transformation, memory, becoming. The pieces we return to again and again become quiet witnesses to who we are and where we’ve been.

Matilda Bliss Studio was born from a desire to create beyond limitation; a space rooted in craft, curiosity, and meaning. My work is informed by symbolism, texture, sentiment, and the belief that what we wear can hold energy and story.  I want what I make to feel discovered rather than consumed; objects that carry a sense of story, sentiment, and lasting presence.

At heart, I am a craftsperson. I care deeply about process, material, and the beauty of making things by hand. I’m endlessly inspired by the way jewelry becomes part of someone’s personal mythology; worn close, lived in, passed on.

Thank you for being here and for supporting slow craft, thoughtful adornment, and my dream behind it all.

With heart, Matilda
